Reflections on 15 Years of Motherhood

Where has the time gone? 🥹
I can’t quite believe it. So many learnings, and so much still to learn and make sense of. Grateful for motherhood 🤱 – the hardest and best job in the world.
This week my eldest turned 15 🎉 – here are 5 things I've learnt about being a mum, often the hardest way:
- No one is looking after you, so that's your job now too. Make yourself a priority, the sooner the better 🙌
- When you become a mum, life changes forever. When you're "just a mum" (i.e. not doing paid work), society treats you differently. And when you do go back to work, you're expected to work like you don't have kids and have kids like you don't work. SO do what's right for you and your family, stuff everyone else 💪
- Everything passes. The tough times, the good times, nothing stays the same. Certain stages feel like they are never going to end, until one day you wake up and you don't know where the time has gone ⏳
- Each stage has new challenges and each child is different. You're literally a beginner the entire time! 💡
- Your heart won't stop growing, and you feel the love so deeply. You'll appreciate your kids and family even more as the years pass ❤️
Happy birthday to my Olivia. You have my heart, beautiful girl 🎂
Keep Going, Mama!
No matter how challenging it gets, remember you are doing an incredible job. You’ve got this! Keep loving, keep learning, and keep growing. The best is yet to come! ✨
